China’s Shenzhou X returns safely

‘Three astronauts who completed China's longest manned space mission returned to Earth safely Wednesday morning, marking another step forward towards the country's goal of building a permanent manned space station by 2020.

Zhang Youxia, commander-in-chief of China's manned space program, said the Shenzhou X mission was a "complete success"….’ China Daily 26 Jun 13

China again proved that it is making steady progress in space technology and space travel. The 3 astronauts spent 15 days in China’s own space lab, Tiangong 1 before landing precisely in the landing area in Inner Mongolia. The whole mission is a story of engineering feats, science and technology, communications, material science and human endeavour, to do what is possible within the means of human enterprise.

In a mission like this, other than being perfect and precise in everything that needs to be done, anything can go wrong any time and the mission could fail with loss of human lives. The successful return of the astronauts is a big stride forward for China and the Chinese people.

China has now joined the ranks of the Americans and Russians in making space a new frontier for the human race.

Human are meant only for the earth.Intruding into the moon or whatever planet should be discourage.
Astronauts are meant to show off one capability .

Do not disturb others' territory.Born here, sleep here, eat here and die here.
Want to be astronauts might as well pray or plead with Madam Wang before recarnation to become a bird or whatever creature like ET .

China should save on such unnecessary spending.Like a Kung Fu expert,he should not reveal his capabilities unnecessary.

Reminder:Hope daft Sinkies do not buy them over to become our space talents.

Why does china want to invest in something so expensive when there are people suffering from hunger? Is it because when they start third world war, they can move those rich elites there? All the rest can die on earth when nuclear and chemical weapons will be used? Is it all about money and protecting the elites again? This world is full of bullshits.

Be it the Moon or other nearby planets, they are not for human occupations, not for long term anyway.
Exploring the Universe or Cosmos is part of understanding more of our being, just not to overdo it at the expense of other more important considerations.
Do not take the curiosity of humans as frivolous, it is for more understanding of our beings.

Bythe way, congratulations to China for the successful and fruitful space exploration.
Very proud of them for achieving so much progress.

Anon above.

The quiet steady progress China has made in Space is as astonishing as it is admirable. China should keep saying that she is 10 years behind the U.S. - and continue saying that for the next twenty years, quietly.

Congrats for the fine achievements

IMO most of this is all for show. Going into earth orbit is no longer such a "feat" anymore. The tech has had 60 years to develop such that privateers like Richard Branson and Google are going into space.

These days going into earth's orbit is more a matter of EXPENSE -- i.e. can you afford it? Because the tech is no longer such a challenge.

I'd like to China's scientific endeavours actually benefit her people (commercially so it'll increase their wealth) -- not just be a government masturbatory program, like when Kennedy's plan to put a man on the moon before the Russians did -- solely to beat Russia in yet another mega-expensive Cold War gambit.

However despite Kennedy and other US presidents cock stand and nationalistic fervour of NASA, at least NASA develop tech created many products and enterprises, along with the jobs to create those products and market them commercially. See Nasa Spinoff
All of us in the modern world use NASA developed tech every day: LEDs, safety gear, even that small camera on your cell phone and computer, body imaging, Digital Signal Processor (for your digital camera and mp3 players), athletic shoes (which made billions for Adidas and Nike et al) -- all from tax-payer funded, government developed SCIENCE.

So I hope China shares its space tech and allows the many capable Chinese and China-based entrepreneurs to go for it.

China new space vehicle should be ready soon. Next time can land like a plane.

The cost of China's space exploration is only a fraction of the cost of the American's, and China can well afford it. China's satellite launching records have been very good and are also a revenue stream for launching satellites for other countries.

The success of China in new or advanced technology is the success of the third world. It has broken the gridlock and monopoly of the West. It is also a message that the rest of the world can also do what China can do and not only limited to the West.

Ermmm, we are not talking about Pakistan or India here.
