Backside kenna burnt in MRT train

A nurse got her backside burnt while travelling in the North South MRT line towards Jurong East. Recently there was another case of a commuter suffering almost from the same kind of incident, seating on seats in the train. There were other similar incidents in the past.

There have been no conclusive reports on the causes of such incidents. Were they caused by accident, negligent or mischief? It is strange that in our crowded trains, such incidents could escape from so many public eyes. Any accidental spill would quickly be noticed as the person involved would have no reason to hide.

What is unacceptable is mischief and this can get more frequent as well as more toxic. The public have been warned about unattended bags or things left lying around in the trains, buses or stations. It looks like liquid on the seats of trains and buses is posing a clear and present danger to commuters.

Commuters are better warned that people leaving liquid on train or bus seats must not be taken likely and some precautionary measures need to be taken to curb this, hopefully irritating mischief caused by individuals and nothing more serious than that.

The public’s cooperation can be helpful with the availability of cameras in the mobile phones. A quick shot of the person leaving behind a wet seat could be evidence should something amiss is found and the person needs to be contacted. This kind of public spirit and civic consciousness are much more urgent than scoundrels in cyberspace pretending to be civic minded but really to harass bloggers and trying to fish for the slightest transgression, intentional or otherwise. The backside burning is a threat to personal safety and is occurring a bit too frequent. It is a small problem relative to rail cracks but still important enough to receive some attention.

This would be something more worthy and meaningful for the IB to watch out for, money better spent for sure.

Will SMRT compensate their medical bills?

Take out all the seats except for those "special needs" seating for the old and fucked, and the young but recently fucked (pregnant women).

I don't see why so many people should be sitting down. If SMRT remove seats, more people can be carried on the trains.

Get fucking real SMRT, there's going to be a population increase.

As for mischief: you are always going to get incident of mischief... there is no stopping that. But look a the numbers: millions travel by SMRT everyday -- bit there are only a handful of mischievous incidents.

Keep it real. Don't get excited by statistical outliers lah.

MS, so statistically it is so small, so very good. Would it be good if the train breakdown is only 1%? Statistically very good.

But wait, every 100 hours breakdown 1 hour, ok? 1% breakdown, very good.

Hey, do not think that matilar is so 大 方.
If he kenna ketok by whore, dont think he complain lah. But, if his buttock got scratch by bar stool, then the legs of the stool will be broken if the legs and head of the bar tender remain intact.
If he ever got burnt by anything on public transport, what do you think he will do ?

Are you sure 1% is "statistically good"? You obviously are lousy at maths.

Better for you to believe in "luck" ;-) I assure your life will continue to be very "surprising".

@259:

>> If matilar falls victim to any incident or accident, rest assured he will accept it as mishap and fate

I don't believe in nonsensical supernatural nonsense, which means "fate" is not even in my consciousness. "Mishaps" OTOH can happen and do happen to EVERYONE. But whatever word you choose, it is still a matter of probability/ statistics when it come to expressing the idea of "incidents" objectively.

I travel in Asia a lot. As a result I get "ketok" all the time -- by cab drivers, hotesses etc. My philosophy is: if you are from out of town, expect to be "ketok" -- I call this the "entertainment tax for out-of-towners".

Go ahead lah, ketok me...how much can you ketok me...$10, $50...$200...go ahead, give it a shot. Whatever I goods or services I buy in your "developing" cuntree is still cheaper than what I have to pay in Australia lah. Knock yourself out, ketok me ;-)
