Margaret Thatcher, to love or to hate her?

To many outside England, Margaret Thatcher was just another well known politician, ex PM of England. It took many by surprise that some quarters in England could rise to celebrate her death. They popped champagne and held pop concerts to express their joy at her departure while the country mourns for the loss of another historical giant.

‘Socialist Angela McCormick explains: "I'm here for a generation that didn't have a future when they left school and didn't have jobs. I'm here for the members of my family who have been devastated by the economic policies or the economic crimes of Margaret Thatcher."

Did Margaret Thatcher cause so much anguish among the citizens of her country, losing jobs through bad economic policies? And it only took her death for the bursting of boisterous elation. While she was still around, the anger and hatred for her was subdued or suppressed, only to be released now. It is quite a pity that those who were affected adversely reacted that way. But they were just human beans.

Political leaders did many good to some people and many bad things to other people. They will leave behind a legacy, to be hated and spit upon, or to be loved and respected. It is better to be leaders in totalitarian states when big statues would be unfold to honour them after death, kind of being immortalized to live forever in the hearts of their people as dear leaders.

In democracy, the ending can be quite unpredictable, and can be very unflattering.

Matilah declared he has two bottles prepared, me has one and few days ago, someone gave me a bottle and a red shirt for the occassion to come.

Statue was made in China for Qin Huai, the Prime Minister that got Yefei killed for aleged treason. The people then saw Yefei as the greatest patriot and mourned his execution. He was and immortalized in China/Chinese History.

Qin Huai was also immortalized with a statue with a hammer placed beside for visitors to knock at him.

In Sin, some are inmortalized in Blogoland, almost All of them for blunders and greed rather than honour and respectability. It is great that the Folks are at least aware of their standings.

Me am of the opinion that there is no point spitting or knocking at a statue, it is much better to let the protagonists know where they stand whence they are alive. They must be very deserving when they leave a consistent impression of benevolence or evilness.

Thatcherism is neo-LKYism. She probably learned how to tame the unions from her idol.

Net net, I think she is one of the best peace-time PM the UI ever had, if not the best. She made Britain great again.

Thatcher was Aristocratic and Imperialistic, that in some way went against the grain of democracy. She ruled with iron fist, hence known as the Iron Lady.
Anyone who rules with iron fist, knuckle duster and hatchet are likely emperor liked in behaviours. They rule with edict, authority they think they get from heaven and not by competency and virtue. That is why they get swear at wheb alive, curse when they die and celebrated when their families are in mourning. Invariably, they deserve the treatments.

There is almost always controversy with the assessment of leadership. The problem is that the desenting voices are also always the loudest.

Those who are celebrating in the UK and wanting to piss on her grave are young punks who were not even born yet when Thatcher was in power. Sad.

He/She who pissed off the People
deserves to be pissed on, alive or dead.

Respect and reverrence are earned by those deserving, not by power.

There is no right or wrong in politics, in fact true for life. A person with the power to change events needs to know the outcome when implementing policies. They could destroy or help people under his/her charge.

At the end, it is the general good that counts. Some of her policies were correct e.g. removing the Communists linked Trade Unions, closing unprofitable coal mines, not joining the Euro etc. But as any great person, the period of usefulness is limited. She could have stayed too long as PM of UK to be of any good at the end.

Just curious - did she piss on you?

Look at the pictures in the link below. Most of them are not even born, or a twinkle in their fathers' eyes when Thatcher was PM. Some of them probably can't identity her. And they want to piss on her grave???

She and conyou both ceased being pm in 1990. Are they having a relationship more than just friends?

The mighty press of the west, the advocate for minority supremacy, must be gloating. Seems like those who benefited from her policies which more than halved the unemployment rate from the time she took office are rather quiet.

As we all know that conyou has a weakness for ultra strong woman, both of them probably has something going on. Read the below.

Sinkies damn too much man
How dare they speculate about rumors about the best known loving spouse/husband in Sin. His fidelity is legendary, probably worthy for Han Fiok Kwang to write another book about the man and his fidelity. It could be best seller.

Do not forget that he chartered a B747 and turned it into a flying hospital just for his wife. Such a devoted husband.

Curiosity kills the cat.

Do not be personal in the discussion about politics, policies carry out by political leaders etc.

The younger Brits are descendants and successors of those affected by policies implemented in the past

Politicians are expected to plan with foresight as well as the ability to foresee the implication and consequence. There are no perfect system, but whatever is done must benefit most and not just selected segment of the citizenry.

There is no need to be pissed on or suffered injustice personally to seek social justice. One might have benefitted, but if injustice is done to others, it is only reasonable to offer help.

'best known loving spouse/husband in Sin'

He knows he can easily win 50% votes by just pretending to be a good husband. Half of the voters are women and women are attracted to 'loving husband'. It is all a pretence lah. He will do anything to win. He went on uk trip on his own probably to meet that someone until the wife insisted on going with him. Both his sons have two wives - its in the genes. Need to elaborate more bo?

Agree lah but these days gov policies only benefit the rich and elite class. MT abolished the free milk for kids, including very poor kids, but slashed taxes for the rich and super rich. She good meh?

Maybe it was his guilty conscience. anyway taxpayers paid for it right? Talking about being uncorrupted and clean.

Let's take a leaf from the Guardian report on the polarisation about Thatcher's demise:

"How should we honour her?
Let's privatize her funeral.
Put it out to competitive tender and accept the cheapest bid.
It's what she would have wanted."

I don't like politicians, but with Thatcher I make an exception.

She was a great leader and a fantastic human being. She did a lot to bring back British pride without British colonialism, and was instrumental in encouraging Britons to stand up for themselves against the collectivist/ socialist idiots of the Eurozone.

I cracked open a bottle of Cabernet Savignon in her honour.

Yep
Why the distinction between Britons and other Europeans and for the matter, the other human race?

According to news. The British People are celebrating the Death of Margaret Thatcher all over UK.

Can anyone beat her?
