Count down to May Day Rally at Hong Lim

10 days to the protest rally and I have this nagging fear that the rally may not happen. The little activities last week, NPark also involved, so innocuously, advising the organizer to apply for permit, the hints of foreigners at the rally, part of the organizers, not sure if being there as spectators will count, is making people nervous. Would there be a last minute cancellation by the authority that no permit was applied and some members of the organizing team were PRs or foreigners? Or because a lot of foreigners will be at the park, some specially ferried there by tour agencies for a new experience of peaceful demonstration inn Sin City?

The call so far is for Singaporeans to be there, rain or shine. For safe measures, Gilbert may want to add another call, be there no matter what. Even if the rally is cancelled by the authority, Singaporeans can still be at the park, with no speeches or stage or shows. Would there then be a case when the park will be barricaded to keep Singaporeans out? It will be really weird won’t it?

The message from the people against the big population is loud and clear. Would the Gang of 77 hear or get notice of it? Would anyone of them be bothered to say, hey, the people did not like what we are going to do? Let me try to put myself into the Gang of 77 and try to sense or feel what are they thinking, if they do bother to think about it.

In the first place, are all 77 in full support of the 6.9m population? I hazard a wild guess that maybe 50% are not in favour but bo pian, got to toe the party line. They did not see it as a national issue that affects the lives of all Singaporeans and their children and grand children and more. They only see it as a party position. It is what the party wants. No care what the people want.

Actually, how many of the Gang of 77 are in support of it? 10, 5, 3 or 1? How many are really in favour of the 6.9m? Whose idea is it? Who really wants to push through this idea? Is there someone that has the omniprescient power of God to guarantee that this is the only way forward, there is no other way and Singapore will be finished? Or someone really believes that this is the mandate of heaven and his will is the way, all the peasants can kpkb, no matter. My way is the way. What I say goes?

Until today, it seems that this 6.9m deal is already cast in stone. No one would want to take a step back to say, hey, the people don’t want that, or at least a significant number of people are unhappy, shall we go and ask them again, maybe a referendum? Or it is case of ignoring the people as the people’s view are just not important, the people are daft and cannot see the goodness of the 6.9 position?

What does this whole episode say about the Govt? The Natcon is still ongoing, going into stage two. There are still plenty of opportunities to talk about this 6.9m. Or is this something that cannot be spoken about? Why is this issue so sensitive that it must not be discussed further, no room for discussion?

By next weekend, all will be forgotten at the attention shifts from this pointless cause to the expectations and consequent results of the Malaysian General Election.

It seems the Malaysians are also pissed off with their government ;-)

Come May 1st 2013 if no "response/reaction" by PAP govt then it sets the motion for all true blue Singaporeans to VTO in 2016 GE.

Be there and check out for yourself if being alone at Hong Lim Park, a park for the Public, becomes an illegal assembly. If 10,000 individual become or constitute into illegal assembly, then how?

Heard a financial specialist forecasted that Barisan National will lose big in the coming Malaysia General Election. Me opines that it sounded very much like Sinkies saying that comes 2015/2016 Opposition Parties will win big in Sg. It wont happen. In both countries, all the youths and students have been brainwashed by their governments for too long. They either become the Regimes Worshippers or politically apathetic as students and when they become adults. Only calamity and disaster can change the political labdscapes in Sg and Malaysia.

Much of the regime changes in other countries are spearheaded by students. They happened in Indonesia, Philippines, S Korea and in old Singapore. Yes! Old Singapore when Students in Nanyang University(Chinsed Medium) and Chinese Pre-university and Secondary School Students were politically and socially prescient and active. Alas! We have no more such politically concerned students and youths.

Even our judge / CEO of NTUC is even a PR.....They are placing the foreigners over local population..

Why are there always a small group of people who like to track and follow the interest of Malaysia politics, and equate them so closely to SG?

I believe it's only the older generation and large ex-malaysian-turned-Singaporeans who feel and see this way. Frankly, there is NO relation whatsoever.

You should really wake up...the youth/young people don't care and don't give a hook. Interesting? Yes. Mirroring Singapore's politics? No.

Please stop this silly and unrelated correlation based on your own imagination.

When u have a political outfit who really ONLY knows one way to prosper i.e putting the population on round after round of steroids. Then where is the scope for negotiations.

If you're dealing with the Australians. Maybe they have 3 or 4 options. The Germans maybe 6 to 7.

But with this people they will just drone on and on - no choice lah etc etc.

I think it is fair to say, even the intelligent amongst them realize by now, their days are numbered.

Now all they really care about is to the project the general impression that all is well in paradise. When in reality, all is far from well.

It is for all of you to consider whether this is closest or furtherest away from the truth.

The Conyou family has already found a way to control sinky forever without having to go thru the election via reserves. This is the same way those people control uncle sam via fedup reserves. Import of more foreigners have to proceed as that is the only way to wake up the sleepy sinkies and their lazy way of living. Sinkies will have to venture out of sinky to far away land, experience being discriminated, insulted, hated just like many asians who want a better live for themselves. This is a painful process but this process will make sinkies sharper and more worldly wise. Most sinkies are really too sheltered.

If you never exposed your kid to external competition, your kid will always be shallow, naive and proud just like many sinkies. In other words, without exposing your kid to germs, your kid will not gain the immunition. Sometimes taking the bitter pill will make that person better.

Singapore kids get plenty of competition and unfair treatment within Singapore's "meritocratic" system.

It's the PAPig kids that need exposure and external competition in the world beyond Singapore.

Sooner or later, the papig kids will have to compete with foreigners descents who are more hungry and unscrupulous and will replace them all. The election game will always eliminate anyone kind and good but the most cunning and unkind will survive and win the game. Thus, it is impossible to get a good and kind person to head the state in any democratic system.
