Japan continues to provoke China

Japan again arrested a Chinese fishing boat for illegal fishing 210km off Diaoyutai/Senkaku Islands. If I am not mistaken, the economic zone of a country is 200km from its coast. In this case, the boat is in a disputed area claimed by both countries.

This kind of provocations has been going on for years. China can no longer sit still when it claims that Diaoyutai Islands belong to her. The Chinese fishing boat was thus inside Chinese territory. China would have to act or lose its credibility in claiming the Islands.

China may hold back from firmer action as this act could be an intended one to provoke China to act. And the Japanese would then escalate the conflict to drag in the Americans. Or it could be a plot by both the Americans and the Japanese to push China over the edge and then to tell the world that China is an aggressive and belligerent country that is willing to resort to use force to settle territorial dispute.

China may do a similar act by arresting some Japanese ship on a tit for tat. Perhaps arresting a Japanese Coast Guard vessel would up the ante and see how far the Japanese and the Americans are prepared to go.

The Japanese would revert to their barbaric behaviour given a chance. Look how arrogant they are acting against China and N Korea, arresting Chinese fishing boat in China's territory and threatening a pre emptive strike against N Korea.

They have not changed and will be as wicked as before when they go to war.

Why no Jipon fishing boat or any other types of boats got caught by China or the Koreas?
Because no Jipon boat ever violates others territory.
Japanese are World reknown for discipline and they will not violate others right except when at war. In war as in love, everything is fair no matter how foul.

What has the rise of China done to the world? Did they start wars everywhere? Did they support regime changes everywhere to support their agenda?

So, what is the reason for the need to counter balance the rise of China? Just because the master said so, all the poodles are just barking at China now.

I think the south koreans are only wayanging with usa. anyway, the chinese are well versed in war strategies. should leave it to their leaders to decide what to do.

Japanese are all hypocrats. They appear polite but are down right rude. They only behave well in their country and otherwise overseas. Even though we buy their products, we would still not forgive them. Too many suffered under their rule.

Anon 2:22, In the case of Diaoyutai, the Islands are very close to Taiwan and the area was a traditional fishing ground for Taiwanese fishing boats. It is very far even from Okinawa chain of islands.

"They appear polite but are downright rude"

Exactly. I worked for a Japanese company once and I can vouch for that. Years later, I worked in a shipping agency, with several Japanese reps in the office and boy, they were just lording over everyone, extremely rude and demanding all sorts of privileges. You have to know them to believe.

South Koreans easily manipulated by the Americans and Japan.

The Japs also have their women folks raped by the barbaric American servicemen stationed in their country.

A lady South Korean guide tells us when the whole troupe of male Jap tourists were to be in a whole package then either a man South Korean guide will be the one servicing them or worst scenario, a late forty or fifty lady S.Korean guide will attend to them

You obviously ignored the perfidy of the Japanese. War - what war? Japan launched the sneak attack against Pearl Harbour BEFORE it declare war on the US. You call that fair?

Singapore should not use immigrants as a tool to boost its economy, the cost of living already so high, if more immigrants come the cost of living will be even higher, causing more sufferings to its people?

Singapore strategy of keep on looking for cheaper and cheaper foreign workers or local workers, last time in the 70s or 80s it work as Singapore has little competitions, it from from a low base and China is not open yet, now Singapore cost has risen much with the increasing levies, COE, ERP, GST, GST, Rental and others costs etc?

Its better for Singapore to keep improve its productivity, innovations & efficiency, reduce wastage, develop its local workers, like the Nordic countries to improve its SME profits, produce better and improve products and services to market overseas, so that our local can have higher wages like the Nordic countries, Singapore can't be cheaper then India and China, its has vast populations and reduce it income gaps?

Leong Sze Hian's latest

[How much profits should social enterprises make?]

I refer to the articles
"Social enterprises, cooperatives 'help to make for a better Singapore'" (Channel NewsAsia, Mar 6)
and
"NTUC – Social Enterprise or Profit-driven Business?"
(TR Emeritus, Mar 7).

The former states that "Social enterprises and in particular cooperatives help to make for a better Singapore".

The subject exchange in Parliament aroused my curiousity
and so I decided to do some research on social enterprises.

I started with NTUC Foodfare as it was the subject which sparked off the debate in Parliament.

I next looked at some NTUC social enterprises."

It's a pity some or many of the 200K of the population got to leave Singapore because they can't take out the CPF money, they should be able to decide themselves, they are old enough to take care their money as they had many years of experiences in investments, whether at 55, they able to take out themselves or put inside the CPF for 3 percents interest, it a wastes of talents if those highly educated got to leave because of this?

With the revenue from 2 $16 billions casinos, COE, ERP, GST, Levies, Rental & Propreties Sales, Profits from the $260 billions of foreign reserves, should be more then enough to fund many things, and return the CPF to those who able to manage their money well and get good returns?

What happened after that? They overextended their reach, became extremely greedier, miscalculated, resort to cruelty against the vanquished and paid for their sins.

I would love to see Japan trying to do what they did to China in this age and time.

The Koreans are bidding their time to exact the pain and humiliation the Japanese did to them and their women.

The current Chinese behavior is equally barbaric and downright hypocritical and lawless. The current Chinese behavior in this territorial disputes is totally despisible and have turn 5000 years of culture totally upside down. Trying to use provocative means to create an international incident is definitely undiplomatic by international rule of law. These provocations are absolutely unnecessary.
